Agroforestry grants and funding

What is Agroforestry
Agroforestry is the integration of trees into the farming system, while maintaining or enhancing the farm’s main agricultural output.
You can find out more about agroforestry from the Forestry Commission here.
Available funding
There are a number of grants and funding schemes to implement and maintain agroforestry on your land that you may be able to apply for if you or your land are eligible.
You can find more details on this page from the Forestry Commission that tells you about grants and other funding currently open to support agroforestry.
Get expert advice
Expert support is available to talk through how you can integrate trees onto your farm in a way that complements existing activity and helps you to achieve your goals.
Take the first step in starting an agroforestry project by contacting your local Agroforestry Woodland Officer (AFWO) who will be able to provide advice and guidance on how to progress your application.
Provide your farm address and postcode to ensure your enquiry is directed to your local AFWO.
The good thing about the low density (tree) planting is that I don’t see it having any production impact on what we’re doing with this kind of land which is permanent pasture. We think we could increase tree cover significantly without impacting our production at all.
