England’s Community Forests

England’s Community Forests offer free expert advice, support and funding to landowners interested in planting new woodland. Our experienced Woodland Creation Officers, based at 15 Community Forests across the country, will work with you from your first enquiry right through to delivery, and long-term management of your woodland. Our flexible grants support a range of woodland creation schemes, cover up to 100% of costs and include up to 15 years maintenance payments to ensure your planting thrives. 

Forest for Cornwall

Forest for Cornwall promotes tree, hedgerow and agroforestry planting across Cornwall. Offering expert advice and flexible funding packages to support landowners with any size of tree planting projects from initial planning and design, to securing funding. Our grants can provide up to 100% of the capital costs of tree planting and an ongoing maintenance budget.

Great Northumberland Forest

The Great Northumberland Forest promotes tree, hedgerow and agroforestry planting across Northumberland. We offer expert advice and flexible funding packages to support landowners with any size of tree planting projects from initial planning and design, to securing funding and regulatory approval. Our direct grants can provide 100% of the capital costs of tree planting.

The National Forest

With generous grants, advice and support for tree planting, forest creation, agroforestry and habitat management in the Midlands, the team at the National Forest can help you realise the future potential of your land. Available to landowners within the 200 square miles of the National Forest, grant schemes offer funding to cover design, planning and up to 100% of implementation and maintenance costs, with schemes from 0.25 hectares.

The Northern Forest

Working together, the Woodland Trust, the Community Forest Trust and four of England’s Community Forests in the north of England – The Mersey Forest, City of Trees (Greater Manchester), the White Rose Forest and Humber Forest – are bringing the Northern Forest to life. With funding from the government’s Nature for Climate Fund, you can secure up to 100% of the capital costs; including site surveys, woodland design, planning, creation, a generous maintenance budget and guidance from our expert advisers.
